McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden
The Garden's Second Home
The McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden was originally planted on the Magic Valley Regional Medical Center's south campus in 1997 to honor the former spouses of Twin Falls philanthropists Barbara McKain and Jim Kinney. Ms. McKain and Mr. Kinney generously financed the costs for the garden's site excavation and irrigation and electrical systems; their generous gifts transformed a hospital parking lot into a living, thriving garden.
The McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden grew in its original location for ten years, as members from the community and the hospital staff steadily filled the garden with in memoriam plants, paving stones, statuary and benches.
In May 2011, the hospital moved to its new home located at the corner of Pole Line and Grandview in Twin Falls. The statuary, trellises, benches, water features and plaques were relocated to the new McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden site outside of the new St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI). The St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation invites you to donate to the McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden in its new location.
Gifts That Honor the Special People in Your Life
The garden is funded by donations received by the St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation. It is divided into 10 areas available for underwriting support. Each sponsored area is recognized with an en¬graved marble tile placed in that area of the garden. All gifts received for the garden are recognized by the Foundation unless anonymity is requested.
