St. Luke’s launches housing matchmaking portal to aid current, prospective employees

The limited availability of housing to rent or own can be a challenge in our community and significantly impacts the ability to recruit and retain employees, especially in rural communities. It affects all job families and levels, clinical and non-clinical.

Given the significant consequences of current housing market conditions, St. Luke’s continues to actively explore possible solutions.

“Last summer, we asked for the public’s help to address the immediate critical housing need,” said Almita Nunnelee, COO/CNO for St. Luke’s Wood River. “We asked rental owners to consider renting on a short- or long-term basis to employees of local businesses and organizations vs short-term to visitors. Many homeowners have thoughtfully and generously reached out to St. Luke’s to make us aware of available properties, which we then pass along to our employees.”

Today, St. Luke’s is excited to announce a portal that will make it even easier for homeowners to submit information on rental properties and for St. Luke’s’ current and prospective employees to access listings and connect with the proper contact for the property.

Information on a rental property can easily be submitted, and it will be securely shared with our employees, potential employees and contracted workforce in need of housing. The form allows for both short-term and long-term rental options. Once owners enter into a lease for their property, they can easily remove the listing via a separate link on the website. A property can be added back to the list at any time. St. Luke's is not the listing agent and will not enter into any agreements or contracts for the rental property. The information provided includes the listing contact for each rental, so employees can work directly with the property owner or their property manager.

“Thank you for thinking of St. Luke’s current and potential employees and contracted workforce as potential renters for your property,” Nunnelee said. “Our employees, potential employees and contracted workforce may contact you directly with interest in obtaining more information from you about how to rent your property. We greatly appreciate your willingness to support St. Luke's in providing community health care.”

Are you looking for a rental or do you have a property available for rent? Visit the housing portal.
