The team at St. Luke's student services is honored to be your resource and advocate as you pursue learning experiences in health care. Whether you are a student or an instructor, our goal is to help create and support memorable student experiences and opportunities, and build competence, confidence and a spirit of collaboration among learners.In one year, St. Luke’s student services helps facilitate around 3,000 rotations for roughly 2,000 individual students from 50+ unique disciplines resulting in over 364,000 educational hours! To meet student needs for our growing community and the future workforce, we also manage partnerships with about 175 schools from coast to coast, and host students in nearly every department and clinic across our health system. COVID Safety

- All students have been approved to participate in COVID-19 patient care if they:
- arrive with an N95 for which they have been fit-tested,
- follow all St. Luke's safety protocols as directed by their preceptor, and
- complete onboarding assignments, excepting the following:
- high school students
- internship students
- observers
- Due to current visitor policies, instructor site visits are not permitted; instructors should conduct check-in meetings with preceptors/students through virtual meetings, if possible.
- Students are expected to self-monitor for COVID symptoms
- All students have been approved to participate in COVID-19 patient care if they:

Personal Protective Equipment

- Universal masking is in effect at all St. Luke's facilities (clinical and non-clinical).
- Protective eyewear (face shield or tight-fitting goggles) is required in all clinical settings.
- We ask that our academic partners fit-test their students and provide them with a supply of N95s, as well as a use/reuse policy in alignment with CDC guidelines. If academic partners are unable to provide N95s and/or unable to complete the fit-testing, students may utilize St. Luke's Occupational Health Services. View instructions

Vaccine Considerations

- Effective March 15, 2022, students, and clinical instructors are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (one dose of Johnson & Johnson or two doses of Moderna or Pfizer) or to have a school approved medical exemption or religious accommodation. Observers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
- For those rare instances when someone may not be able to get vaccinated due to a medical condition or strongly held religious belief, St. Luke’s defers to the academic institution to provide documentation attesting that a student has a valid medical exemption or religious accommodation enabling them to forego the vaccination requirement.

These facilities welcome students if the following criteria are met:
- Fingerprint background check
- COVID testing immediately prior to first shift and periodically throughout rotation
