St. Luke’s Magic Valley and Jerome teams ready for October walking challenge
With fall upon us, many community members are lacing up their sneakers and getting ready to participate in the St. Luke’s Magic Valley and St. Luke’s Jerome Walking Challenge.
St. Luke’s team members in Twin Falls and Jerome, along with community leaders, will be participating in a friendly competition to see which team can log the most miles during the month of October.
Walking will be logged from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 for the participating teams.
The individual with the most mileage logged between the Magic Valley and Jerome teams will receive $1,500 to be donated to the organization of the winner’s choice. The team with the most mileage will receive the coveted sneaker plaque, which currently resides in Jerome.
Last year, between both teams, 2,300 miles were walked during the month. Jerome Mayor Dave Davis won the overall competition, walking 334 miles.

- Dr. Josh Kern, St. Luke’s Jerome Family Medicine
- Dr. Nicole Ruske, St. Luke’s Jerome Family Medicine

- Dale Layne, Jerome School District superintendent
- Jeremy Presnell, Jerome fire chief
- Mike Williams, city administrator
The Magic Valley team members are:
- Mike Fenello, St. Luke’s Magic Valley administrator
- Arlen Blaylock, St. Luke’s Magic Valley chief nursing officer
- Dr. Steven Kohtz, St. Luke’s Magic Valley Family Medicine
- Dr. Aaron Brown, St. Luke’s Magic Valley Family Medicine
- Mayor Shawn Barigar
- Dr. Brady Dickinson, Twin Falls School District superintendent
- Twin Falls Police Lt. Terry Thueson
- Travis Rothweiler, Twin Falls city manager
