Fun, friends and fitness: Nearly 10,000 come together for a successful St. Luke's FitOne

September 27, 2023
Nearly 10,000 people took part in this year’s St. Luke’s FitOne races on Sept. 23 in downtown Boise.

About 9,500 people registered for the 5K, 10K and half marathon distances. Approximately 1,000 volunteers helped throughout the event and week leading up to race day. See results and search for photos of your favorite runner here.

Several leaders, including President and CEO Chris Roth (and his family), Children’s Medical Director Dr. Henry Thompson and St. Luke’s Health Plan CEO Matt Wolff, served as honorary starters to the races. Denise Marx, a St. Luke's health information management services supervisor, sang the national anthem to kick off the day.

FitOne’s mission is to build healthier communities through fun, active living, and the event benefits St. Luke’s Children’s programs and services.

"Race day was amazing," St. Luke's race and events director Alissa McKinley said. "The energy this year was one of the best. The participants smiles make it all worth it.

"This event wouldn’t be possible without the outstanding crew we have. The volunteers who step up and the various St Luke’s departments, including Air St Luke’s and St Luke’s Sports Medicine to ensure everyone’s safety. This event takes a village and I am proud of the village we have!"
