St. Luke’s Hospitals in Boise and Meridian Recognized in Top 100 List
As St. Luke's Boise and St. Luke's Meridian continue to pursue quality and safety for patients, national organizations are taking note of what's happening in Idaho. Becker's Hospital Review announced Tuesday St. Luke's is on its list of 100 Great Hospitals in America.
Becker's says the hospitals included on this list are renowned for excellence. The publication points out that they are industry leaders in innovation, quality patient care and clinical research, and have received recognition across various publications and accrediting organizations.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected the 2017 hospitals based on analysis of several ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News and World Report's 2016-17 Honor Roll and specialty rankings, CMS star ratings, Leapfrog grades, Truven Health Analytics top hospitals, Most Wired hospitals and Magnet accreditation.
"The combination of all of these diverse recognitions and awards validates that St. Luke's is performing as the national leader we set a vision to become," said Dr. Bart Hill, St. Luke's chief quality officer.
"We know when we provide the highest level of quality and safe care, we avoid unnecessary complications, prevent avoidable deaths, and ultimately, reduce the overall cost of care," he said. "So, the real value to St. Luke's is not the recognition itself - it's what these achievements all means for the patients we care for every day, and their families who want to see their loved ones at their healthiest."
Becker's Hospital Review has published a version of this list since 2012. The full list features individual profiles of all included hospitals.
