With deep gratitude and respect, officials from Boise State University and St. Luke’s Health System are thrilled to announce today the estate of Allen T. and Billie Dee Noble is donating $25 million to both organizations. These monumental gifts, totaling $50 million, will support our communities for generations to come.
Following is a special note, provided by the family members of Mr. and Mrs. Noble:
Today … is a good day to be BLUE!
Blue as in Boise State football blue … and blue as in St. Luke’s blue.
A couple of years ago, both the Boise State and St. Luke’s communities lost a true friend and supporter when Allen Noble passed away. Allen and his wife Billie Dee, who had passed away three years earlier, were avid, long-time patrons of Boise State football. They traveled often with the team and were strong financial partners of the program. They loved football and the close relationships that were built with the coaches and players.
Allen and Billie Dee were also strong advocates of St. Luke’s and their mission to bring quality health care to the Treasure Valley, including EMS services through the Air St. Luke’s program. Allen and Billie Dee felt it was important to give back to the communities that were so good to them.
So today, we are pleased and honored to announce the gifts from the estate of Allen T. and Billie Dee Noble of $25 million to Boise State football and $25 million to the St. Luke’s Health Foundation.
The family is excited to see the impact that these contributions can have on the future of these two programs.
"We are extremely grateful to Allen, Billie Dee and their entire family for this extraordinary gift,” said Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State athletic director. “We choose to believe in epic at Boise State, and this transformational gift by the ultimate Bronco family only shows the belief the family has in us and Bronco Nation. Our goal is to take this incredible legacy and continue to positively impact the lives of present and future Broncos!”
“It is a rare moment to receive a selfless gift that will help alter the trajectory of health and well-being for communities across our state,” said St. Luke’s President and CEO Chris Roth. “Words of gratitude all seem insufficient to properly convey the impact this gift by the estate of Allen and Billie Dee Noble will have on Idahoans for generations to come. Legacy gifts play a critical role in helping us improve the health of people in the communities we serve and we are profoundly grateful.”
Allen T. Noble was born and raised in Idaho. He built a remarkable career through his passions for farming, innovation and business. As one of the initial three outside investors, Allen was integral to helping Micron become one of the world’s leading technology companies.
Billie Dee Noble, also an Idaho native, was known for her creativity and artistic talents. She played an influential role in supporting a variety of civic and community events. Together, the family loved Boise State athletics and the care they received at St. Luke’s.
Billie Dee Noble passed away in 2017. Allen Noble passed away in 2021.
