At St. Luke's Children's Orthopedics, our team of fellowship trained, board-certified physicians and pediatric specialists provides care for a wide range of conditions including fractures, trauma, scoliosis, congenital and acquired deformities, neuromuscular disorders, and other hereditary, genetic, and developmental disorders. We also offer expertise in sports medicine, abnormal gait or walking abnormalities, and bone tumors. Krysten Bell, MD specializes in pediatric orthopedic surgical care, including trauma, complex hip deformities in children and young adults, scoliosis and other spine deformities, pediatric foot and ankle surgery, and pediatric sports injuries. She also works with neuromuscular conditions like cerebral palsy.
Krysten is a candidate active member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, and an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Her research interests include outcomes following periacetabular osteotomy for residual hip dysplasia and surgical treatment of severe slipped capital femoral epiphysis.
Krista Petersen, FNP-C is a member of the pediatric orthopedic team. She specializes in musculoskeletal injuries and fracture management in the pediatric population. She is an active member or the Pediatric Orthopaedic Providers Society.
Prior to obtaining her FNP, Krista worked as a registered nurse on the pediatric floor, the emergency department, and a pediatric specialty clinic at St. Luke’s. Her career has always involved the specialized care of children. She strives to provide a positive experience and compassionate care for every young patient and their families.
Krista earned her associates degree from Salt Lake Community College, and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwest Nazarene University. In her free time, Krista can be found in the Idaho’s backcountry, whitewater rafting, hiking, and skiing. She enjoys watching sports, especially football. Most of all, Krista loves spending time with her large, busy, and very entertaining family.
Jason Robison, MD, POSNA has special interest in pediatric orthopedic care, trauma, foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, and complex deformity correction. He also specializes in non-surgical and surgical treatment of complex deformities of the spine and hip in children and young adults, including scoliosis and kyphosis. Dr. Robison is member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Association of North America (POSNA). His research interests have focused on hip deformity in young, active adults and the outcomes of non-joint replacement surgeries. He has authored textbook chapters on orthopedic trauma and the management of complex pediatric spinal deformity.
Justin Roth, DO is a fellowship trained, board certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon who treats a full spectrum of pediatric and adolescent orthopedic conditions and injuries. He specializes in scoliosis, hip preservation, cartilage and joint preservation surgery, and adolescent sports medicine with additional interest in limb deformity correction for congenital and post-traumatic deformities of the lower extremity, foot, and ankle. As part of his hip preservation and limb deformity practice, he cares for patients spanning from infants to young adults.
Dr. Roth recognizes that children and adolescent’s growing bodies require specialized care, whether treating a fracture or a complicated medical condition. He enjoys talking to and interacting with patients and families to come to the best solution for their unique needs. Whenever possible he focuses on non-operative treatment options before recommending surgery. He is a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA), Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRISM) and the International Society for Preservation of the Hip (ISHA) specialty societies and holds staff privileges at the Shriners Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Roth’s research interests have focused on hip preservation in adolescents and young adults, scoliosis, hip arthroplasty and trauma. He has been a presenter on these topics at national and international conferences. In addition, he has also authored textbook chapters on hip preservation surgery and participated in surgical mission trips to Haiti, Dominican Republic, and the Grenadines. His educational and professional background includes seven years spent as a research and development engineer before returning to graduate school to study medicine. This combination resulted in multiple research grants and device patents. His engineering and medicine perspectives blend well allowing Dr. Roth to offer his patients the latest in evidence-based solutions for their unique situation.
In his free time, Dr. Roth enjoys backcountry skiing, golf, biking, travel, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.Call us to make an appointment.
