Patrick Gerety, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon, specializing in pediatric and adult plastic surgery.
Dr. Gerety was first inspired to specialize in plastic surgery to treat cleft lip and palate. He obtained fellowship training in this area, lived overseas as an international volunteer, and ran a busy cleft lip and palate program in Indiana prior to joining St. Luke's. Today, he co-leads St. Luke’s multidisciplinary cleft lip and palate team.
Beyond cleft lip and palate, Dr. Gerety is passionate about caring for patients in need of otoplasty for ear deformities, hidden incisions to remove masses, nevus excision reconstruction, and pediatric breast reconstruction. He is a member of St. Luke’s vascular malformations group that cares for patients with hemangioma and venous malformation.
Dr. Gerety is also an expert in adult plastic surgery, serving patients with both aesthetic and reconstructive needs. He performs a variety of breast procedures, including reduction, augmentation, lift (mastopexy), reconstruction, and gynecomastia surgery (male breast reduction). In addition, he performs cosmetic procedures such as abdominoplasty, rhinoplasty, face lift, and more.
Dr. Gerety graduated first in his class at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, which is ranked as one of the top medical schools in the country. He then completed plastic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Sumiko (Susan) J. Hegstad, MD trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery. She has professional interest in surgery of the breast and body, functional medicine and the study of systems biology in health and disease, and nutrigenomics. She is a founding member of the reconstructive breast surgery team at St. Luke's.
Dr. Hegstad has served the Treasure Valley for many years, bringing her compassionate care and surgical expertise to patients throughout the region. She is excited to help bring a full range of breast services to St. Luke's patients. Please note, Dr. Hegstad's practice at St. Luke's focuses on procedures that are covered by insurance. She serves patients interested in self-pay cosmetic procedures at her private practice (no referral required for these patients).
Prior to her medical education, Dr. Hegstad earned her bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Centre College, graduating magna cum laude.
Dinu Mistry, MD is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon specializing in breast surgery. In her work at St. Luke's, she focuses on both implant-based and soft-tissue (flap) reconstruction for breast cancer patients. In her private practice, Dr. Mistry performs all types of reconstructive and cosmetic breast procedures, as well as abdominoplasties and body contouring. She has also become a regional resource for patients who require complex revisions of previous breast surgeries.
After medical school at Washington University, Dr. Mistry completed two residencies, in general surgery and plastic surgery, at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She then practiced with the MacGregor Medical Association, a large multispecialty group, prior to relocating to Boise. At MacGregor, she served as chairperson of the department of surgery and as a member of their board of directors. Dr. Mistry completed her fellowship training in cancer reconstruction at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Mistry is a Fulbright Scholar and has a degree in Germanic languages and literature from the University of Illinois.Lindsey Ochoa is a physician assistant in plastic and craniofacial surgery, treating both children and adults.
Lindsey earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from San Diego State University, and her master's degree in physician assistant studies from University of South Alabama. Prior to returning to her hometown of Boise, she worked in plastic surgery at UC San Diego and Lifespan, a Brown University affiliate.
