St. Luke's Humphreys Diabetes Center gives you access to diabetes educators, behavioral health specialists, and specialized medical care. Our Boise office has three diabetologists on staff who specialize in the management and treatment of diabetes, offering you full medical care, along with diabetes management classes, medical nutrition therapy, and behavioral health services.
We provide you with the tools to approach diabetes with a sense of confidence. In addition, we provide many of these resources in regional clinics to better serve you.

Elizabeth Augustine, LCSW has worked with children, adults, and families with chronic mental health concerns and chronic medical conditions. She has also worked with trauma patients and practices Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Elizabeth earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Seattle University and her master's degree in social work from Northwest Nazarene University.
Hana Branahl, RD, LD focuses on person-centered nutrition interventions and strategies. She is passionate about metabolic health, has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and has experience in oncology nutrition. She believes that nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and spirituality are all interrelated and should be prioritized in order to maximize health outcomes.
In her free time, Hana enjoys hiking, backpacking, skiing, and playing indoor soccer.
Sherwin D'Souza, MD enjoys various aspects of endocrinology, and has a special interest in diabetes, lipid disorders, and cardiometabolic disease.
Dr. D'Souza is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology, and has passed the European Board of Examination for Endocrinology. He is currently the medical director at St. Luke's Endocrinology and Humphreys Diabetes Center. In addition, he has served as medical director of the Physician Assistant Program at Idaho State University in Meridian.
In his spare time he enjoys running, hiking, traveling and spending time with his family.
Alyssa Gallagher, RD is a certified diabetes educator with special interests in prediabetes, type 1 diabetes, and diabetes during pregnancy. She has particular expertise in low carb nutrition, weight management, and prenatal nutrition. Alyssa likes working with her patients to make lifelong, sustainable changes to help prevent and treat medical conditions.
In addition to seeing patients, Alyssa is a preceptor for dietetic interns at Idaho State University.
Alyssa earned bachelor's degrees in education from Western Oregon University and in nutrition from Oregon State University. In her free time, she enjoys camping, hiking, snowshoeing, or biking with her family.
Julie Meek, LCSW has worked with children, teens, adults, families, and groups with chronic medical and mental health conditions, trauma-related disorders, and mood and anxiety disorders in both Idaho and Oregon. She has a special interest in neurodivergence and has helped many individuals living with ASD, AD/HD, and learning differences overcome barriers to achieving their goals.
Julie is a board-approved clinical social work supervisor in the state of Idaho. She is also trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She currently provides behavioral health services at Humphrey’s Diabetes Center in both the Boise and Meridian offices.
Julie has presented locally, nationally, and internationally on a variety of topics, particularly on provider self-care and movement/dance-based interventions. Her work is published in two peer-reviewed journals: Australian Social Work and Intervention in School and Clinic.
Julie earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Boise State University. She is currently enrolled at Saybrook University and anticipates earning her Ph.D. in Integrative Social Work in 2026.
Julie enjoys spending time with her children and family, traveling to new places, time in the outdoors, and raising chickens.
Shanaz Sikder, MD is an endocrinologist with special interests in thyroid cancer, and adrenal disorders. During her time at the National Institutes of Health, she trained under the world's experts in endocrinology as well as rare disorders. She also conducted clinical research in diabetes and insulin resistance in the South Asian population.
In her free time, Dr. Sikder enjoys yoga, traveling, the outdoors, and great food.
Leanne Wentworth, RD, LD, CDCES is a certified diabetes care and education specialist with years of experience in health and wellness coaching. She is passionate about helping people to successfully manage their health conditions and improve their quality of life.
Leanne earned her bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition from University of California, Davis; and her master’s degree in nutrition and exercise physiology from Washington State University, Spokane. She also served in the Peace Corps for rural health development in Zamia.
In her free time, Leanne she loves getting outdoors, dancing, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
Stacie Woods, PA-C, BC-ADM, earned her bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University in clinical laboratory science. She earned her master’s degree from University of Washington, MEDEX program in physician assistant studies. She is also board certified in advanced diabetes management. Before becoming a physician assistant, Stacie worked as a medical laboratory scientist.
