Transportation of Clinical Specimens

  • All specimens must be labeled appropriately and placed in a ziploc bio-hazard bag to prevent risk of leaking or external contamination.
  • Be sure that specimens are collected in leak-proof containers and the lids are securely tightened.
  • The requisition must be attached to or placed in a separate pouch of the transport bag.
  • Specimens with needles are not acceptable.
