About Robert J. Darflinger, MD

Robert Darflinger, MD is a board-certified neurointerventional radiologist with advanced expertise in adult and pediatric neurovascular diseases. His clinical interests include the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of a broad range of adult and pediatric neurovascular conditions, including endovascular stroke therapy, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), pulsatile tinnitus, chronic subdural hematomas, and spinal degenerative disease.

Originally from Illinois, Dr. Darflinger served a short stint in the military prior to completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following his medical education and residency, he pursued specialized training in neuroradiology and completed a two-year fellowship in neurointerventional radiology at the University of California, San Francisco—one of the nation’s leading centers for advanced neurovascular care.

Dr. Darflinger began his clinical practice with the Pacific Neurosciences Institute, providing neurointerventional radiology (NIR) services across four Los Angeles-area hospitals. He most recently practiced at the Neurosurgery Center at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Redwood City, which serves as the NIR hub for Northern California’s Kaiser Permanente network.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Darflinger enjoys spending time outdoors—hiking, camping, skiing, and diving—and cherishes time with his wife and three young children.
