About Kevin R. Gertsch, MD
Kevin Gertsch, MD has clinical interests in surgical and medical management of pediatric and adult strabismus, pediatric cataracts, uveitis, amblyopia, genetic syndromes, congenital ptosis and ocular motility disorders secondary to cranial nerve palsies, thyroid ophthalmopathy, and trauma. He is also trained to manage retinopathy of prematurity. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Gertsch's primary goal as a clinician is to help children and their families understand the diseases affecting them and to help guide treatment to give the best visual outcomes possible. Prior to joining St. Luke's, he worked as an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina, and he also served in a private practice multi-specialty group in the suburbs of Atlanta.
Dr. Gertsch earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Brigham Young University. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, running, hiking, reading, cooking, and going on adventures with his family.
