Alison R. Kinsler, MD

Alison R. Kinsler, MD, FAAOS specializes in sports medicine, shoulder surgery, and general orthopedics, including fracture care. She treats both adult and pediatric patients. Her surgical specialties include a spectrum of shoulder surgeries including shoulder replacements (both reverse and anatomic) and arthroscopic procedures to treat rotator cuff, labrum and biceps tendon disorders. Dr. Kinsler also has expertise in knee surgery including ACL tears, meniscus repairs, cartilage restoration, patella instability, and multi-ligamentous knee injuries.

Dr. Kinsler earned her bachelor's degree in biology at Old Dominion University, where she was also a Division I soccer player. After completing her medical school training at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia, she then completed her residency training at Tripler Army Medical Center while on active duty. She served in the US Army as an orthopedic surgeon finishing her military career as a major with nine years of service. Prior to joining St. Luke's, Dr. Kinsler practiced at William Beaumont Army Medical Center where she trained orthopedic residents in advanced sports medicine surgery and was responsible for sports medicine curriculum for resident education.
