  • Dr. Tanabe is the BEST. She is kind, thoughtful and listens with patience, efficiency and best-in-class expertise and care. I feel very fortunate to have her as my physician -- she has worked with me to address and achieve my health goals in a holistic, knowledgable and comprehensive way. Since seeing Dr. Tanabe, I’ve lowered my blood pressure, cholesterol and weight through exercise, diet and by managing my stress (I am a family caregiver) through meditation. My HRV is higher, my VO2 max is excellent, and my fitness age has decreased by 4 years. I have a true partner in managing and optimizing my health! *Unfortunately, the Prior Authorization staff who work with Dr. Tanabe are not helpful -- or even caring or kind. This makes it difficult to be proactive and consistent. Twice this year they delayed sending prior authorization to my insurance. It resulted in me not having prescribed medication for several days or more than a week -- not ideal or recommended for thyroid medication, for example. When I messaged or called the Prior Authorization team for help, they were dismissive, unhelpful or didn’t respond at all. One person actually laughed at me. I realize they are busy, and I try to give the benefit of the doubt and also time. But it’s clear there is a disconnect within the Prior Authorization team ... the level of care is far below the standard of “awesomeness” set by Dr. Tanabe and her team.

  • My physician retired, and his office referred me to Dr. Tanabe’s office. I was offered an appointment with her PA. I declined the appointment with the PA and opted to wait until I could schedule with Dr. Tanabe, as I was referred as a new patient of Dr. Tanabe’s. I tried to schedule this through Mychart, which advised me that someone from the office would call me regarding scheduling. As no one called, I called the office and spoke to a woman who only gave her name as “Charlie”. She was very rude and advised me that since I had cancelled the appointment with the PA, I was no longer eligible to be a new patient of Dr. Tanabe’s, as she is not accepting new patients. I am sure Dr. Tanabe is an outstanding physician, but her office staff is terrible. There is no chance I would recommend her due to this, but fortunately for her, she is full now anyway.

  • Love love love Dr. Tenabe. She is always kind, communicative and caring. She listens and tries to get to the root of the issue, not just fixing it on the surface. Couldn’t ask for a better physician!

  • Dr. Tanabe is personable, knowledgeable, and a good listener. She is very good about discussing health conditions and options for treatment.

Discover Team-Based Care

This provider’s clinic uses team-based care: a proactive, coordinated approach involving a group of providers working together to support your health before, during and after your visits. It ensures that your care doesn’t depend on a single moment or a single person, and helps us meet your needs more quickly.

Each patient is connected to a primary care physician who is supported by a team that includes physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health specialists and care coordinators.

With more people involved in your care, you have more options when scheduling by phone or online. You may also notice additional team members supporting your visits and follow-up care.
