Back and Neck Pain
Relieve Pain and Prevent Future Injury
At St. Luke’s, we’ll help you find the right treatment for your back, neck or spine pain. Most back and neck pain improves with time and simple treatment at home. Staying active, making short-term changes to your activities, doing stretches or exercises, using heat or ice, and taking over-the-counter medicine if needed can help reduce pain and improve recovery.
Some people may need additional care to help them recover. Getting help early from a physical therapist or spine specialist can reduce pain, support recovery and help prevent future problems. We can also teach you ways to stay healthy and continue doing the activities you enjoy.
Our team includes physical therapists, spine specialists, orthopedic and neurosurgery providers, rehabilitation medicine providers, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. We focus on conservative, non-surgical treatments first because they help most people recover from spine pain. In rare cases when more advanced treatment is needed, we also offer expert care for conditions that may require injections or surgery.
Your treatment plan may include:
- Education about your condition and ways to stay active
- Hands-on treatment to improve movement and reduce pain
- Instruction in gentle movements to help relieve symptoms
- Exercises to improve strength and your ability to move
- Evaluation and treatment for osteoporosis (weak bones)
- Pain management, including medications or injections when needed
- Referral to a surgeon if additional help may be needed
Throughout your care, our team will work closely with you to improve your function, reduce pain, and help you get back to the activities that matter most to you.
