Chemotherapy
Supportive, Tailored Treatment
Chemotherapy is a powerful tool in your cancer treatment journey. These medicines work to stop cancer cells from growing and spreading, and your doctor will carefully tailor your treatment to fit your unique needs—taking into account the type, stage, and grade of your cancer.
There are different ways to receive chemotherapy, and your care team will help determine what’s best for you. You might take pills, or receive medicine through an IV. Treatments can vary—some people have chemo daily, weekly, or monthly—and it may continue for several months or longer.
You won’t go through this alone. You may receive treatment at St. Luke’s Cancer Institute, at the hospital, or even in the comfort of your home, depending on what your care plan calls for. Wherever you are, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
