Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Care for Non-Healing Wounds
If you're struggling with a wound or skin issue that won’t heal, you may benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO)—a proven treatment that delivers 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber to help your body heal from the inside out. HBO is especially effective for non-healing wounds, bone infections, surgical complications, skin grafts, and even radiation-related tissue damage.
St. Luke's has earned recognition and accreditation through the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society as a "level two - with distinction" clinical hyperbaric facility.
Hyperbaric Chamber Treatments
At sea level, we breathe air that’s about 21% oxygen under normal atmospheric pressure. But during hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO), you breathe 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber—where the pressure is significantly higher than normal.
This powerful combination allows your body to absorb 10 to 15 times more oxygen than usual. The extra oxygen dissolves directly into your blood and tissues, reaching areas with poor circulation and helping to revitalize damaged or slow-healing tissue—even in places red blood cells can’t easily reach.
