Brain and Skull Base Tumor Program
Expert Surgeons, Leading Technology
When it comes to brain tumor surgery, you want confidence that your surgeon is highly trained and highly experienced. Our community is fortunate to have a team of world-class cranial neurosurgeons serving our community and region, offering their depth of training and expertise, close to home.
The neurosurgeons of St. Luke's Brain and Skull Base Tumor program perform more than 100 brain surgeries per year, treating tumors in the adult brain and skull base, including gliomas, brain metastases, meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, and acoustic neuromas. We utilize leading-edge technology, such as augmented reality brain surgery, advanced intraoperative imaging, and state-of-the-art surgical microscopes.
Our team is skilled in the full range of advanced techniques and the least invasive treatments possible, including:
- Open surgical approaches (craniotomy)
- Minimally invasive endoscopic surgery
- Preoperative and intraoperative brain mapping
- Microsurgery
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
- Awake craniotomy
- Multidisciplinary treatment of skull base tumors, including meningiomas, acoustic neuromas, and pituitary tumors
Our neurosurgeons collaborate closely with the team at St. Luke's Cancer Institute throughout a patient's care experience. We also lead a Central Nervous System Tumor Board attended by a multidisciplinary team including experts in medical oncology, radiation oncology, neuroradiology, pathology, genetics, and physical therapy/neurologic rehabilitation.
