Support and Counseling for Cancer Patients

Care Beyond the Diagnosis

A cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming—not just for you, but for your family and loved ones too. The journey through treatment brings emotional, physical, and practical challenges that can be hard to face alone. That’s why our specially trained oncology social workers are here: to walk alongside you with compassion, expertise, and support tailored to your unique experience.

From the moment of diagnosis, our team is here to help you make sense of what’s ahead. We’ll guide you through understanding your treatment options, managing the emotions that often come with a diagnosis—like fear, sadness, or anger—and making decisions that fit your life, your values, and your goals.

We’re also here to help you communicate—whether it’s with your doctors, your family, or your workplace—and to support you in navigating sensitive topics like intimacy, fertility, and body image. If you’re struggling with sleep, stress, or sadness, we’ll teach you practical coping skills to help you feel more in control.

Beyond emotional support, we assist with the logistics that can add stress to your journey. Need help applying for financial assistance? Finding transportation to treatment? Connecting with housing or home care resources? We’ve got you covered.

As you move through treatment and into survivorship, we’ll help you plan for the future with tools like advance directives and resources for life after cancer.

We also offer:

  • Individual and family counseling
  • Crisis intervention during times of acute distress
  • Support groups and educational programs
  • Referrals to trusted community health resources
  • Help navigating school or workplace challenges related to your diagnosis
