For New Employees

Welcome to St. Luke's

Congratulations on joining one of the top health care systems in the country. We are incredibly proud of our organization and the caring employees who are the heart of St. Luke’s. We're humbled and grateful you have decided to support our mission as a part of our team. Let's get started!

Before Your First Day

After you accepted your offer of employment, your recruiter sent instructions regarding the tasks you must complete prior to your start date. Tasks vary slightly depending on the type of role, but you may be expected to:

  • Complete a voluntary self-identification form
  • Complete tasks assigned as required (based on role)
  • Complete an employee health screening and background check
  • Provide I-9 validation (pick up a printed copy of the New Employee Orientation (NEO) Workbook during this onsite task)
  • Secure a St. Luke’s identification badge; all employees are required to wear a St. Luke's-issued badge while at work. Please see instructions from your recruiter on how to get your St. Luke's badge.
  • Review all communications from your talent recruiter and watch for your New Employee Orientation (NEO) invitation via email the week before your start date.

You may also receive additional information via email regarding new employee orientation, including COVID-19 precautions for employees, department-specific information, etc. Any questions should be directed to your recruiter or the St. Luke’s Human Resource Service Center at (208) 381-4357, ext. 2 or [email protected].

Your First Day

On your first day at St. Luke’s, you'll attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) virtually to learn about our mission, vision, values, and how we're transforming health care. The goal of NEO is welcome you to St. Luke’s as you begin your career with us.

Our team hosts a live virtual training from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. every Monday for new employees. During this required training, you'll participate in a series of sessions designed to acclimate you to St. Luke’s.

Participation Instructions

  1. To participate, you must use a computer or laptop with a reliable internet connection. You will be unable to join on a mobile device. If you do not have access to a computer, laptop, and/or reliable internet connection, please notify your recruiter or your hiring manager immediately for support.
  2. You will receive a New Employee Orientation (NEO) email to your personal email address the Wednesday before your scheduled start date. This email will include instructions for joining the live, virtual session. Please note: NEO participation is contingent on successful completion of pre-boarding requirements (ex: new employee health assessment, licensure/educational requirements, etc.). Your recruiter will contact if you do not meet these requirements on the Friday prior to NEO.
  3. We encourage you to test the link before training begins to ensure you can connect properly.

Your First Week and Beyond

What happens next will depend upon your role within the organization.

  • Clinical Orientation: For employees providing direct patient care, New Employee Clinical Orientation (NECO) is scheduled Tuesday – Friday during your first week. Your personalized orientation schedule, including instructions on how to join, will be sent to you on your first day. Schedules vary based on role, department, and location. View a sample schedule.
  • MyStLukes Orientation: For employees who access patient medical records, training on how to use our electronic medical record (MyStLukes) begins your first week. Your personalized orientation schedule, including instructions on how to join, will be sent to you on your first day. Your instructor will ensure you are set up for success.
  • All other employee training: After your first day, you will complete department orientation and onboarding with your team, including safety and compliance training. Report to work according to the schedule provided by your supervisor.
