Richard K. Gilroy, MD is medical director of Liver Transplant and Hepatology for the Intermountain Health System. He is an active member in multiple societies and participates in guideline developments in hepatology and transplantation. At Intermountain he oversees multiple clinical and investigator-initiated research studies and was responsible for overseeing a quality and the initiation of a process leading to Intermountain undertaking the world’s first intentional hepatitis C positive organ transplants into hepatitis C negative patients. Dr Gilroy's current research initiatives have moved to population-based health in Utah covering obesity, NASH, PSC, PBC, and ulcerative colitis.
Dr. Gilroy's former positions include being on faculty at the University of Nebraska and a professor of medicine at the University of Kansas.
