About Miranda L. Higham

Biography

Miranda Higham, PhD conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations and provides evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Higham specializes in the treatment of OCD and related disorders (e.g., trichotillomania, excoriation, Tourette’s Syndrome, selective mutism, hoarding, misophonia, specific phobias), anxiety disorders, and disruptive behaviors. She also frequently works with individuals who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). 

Dr. Higham completed her clinical internship in the OCD and Related Disorders Track at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  She has received specific training in a variety of behavior-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with exposure and response prevention (ERP), supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions (SPACE), comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics (CBIT), habit reversal training (HRT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and parent management training. Dr. Higham is currently working towards becoming certified in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT). 

Dr. Higham is also particularly passionate about increasing accessibility and equitability of mental health identification and services for underserved youth. She has co-authored peer-reviewed papers on the treatment and assessment of OCD in marginalized populations, as well as papers where she evaluated the effectiveness of screening tools across diverse populations.
