About James H. Schrader

Biography

James Schrader, DO is the medical director for the Post-Acute Medical Group, caring for patients at skilled nursing and long-term acute care facilities. Dr. Schrader is passionate about assisting patients and their support systems during challenging times with high quality care, support, and collaboration. Prior to this work he worked in St. Luke’s Treasure Valley hospitals as a hospitalist for 10 years caring for patients needing hospitalization.

Before attending medical school, Dr. Schrader was a Medical Service Corps officer in the United States Army for primarily at Ft. Lewis Washington. In his tenure he served in support of the 101st with the 62nd Medical Brigade in Iraq.  

Dr. Schrader is an avid runner. He and his family enjoy taking advantage of outdoor opportunities including hiking, biking, fishing, and camping with his family and dog. He has a passion for helping people and volunteers to support veterans at local and regional events.

Dr. Schrader is a member of the American Osteopathic Society and the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.
