Serious or life-threatening injuries require an all-hands-on-deck approach to care. St. Luke's Children's Hospital in Boise is Idaho's only pediatric trauma center for evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and care of children who have experienced a traumatic injury. Verified as Level II by the American College of Surgeons, our team has completed extensive trauma training and offers around-the-clock trauma care led by our pediatric trauma surgeons in a child-and-family-centered environment, serving the unique medical needs of children facing extremely difficult circumstances.
Our trauma team coordinates with emergency transport services to ensure we deliver expert treatment as quickly as possible, even before our patients arrive at the hospital. Once patients arrive at our facility, St. Luke's Children's Hospital is uniquely prepared to support the medical and emotional aspects of each child's recovery through our emergency department, pediatric inpatient care units, rehabilitation, social work, injury prevention, and education programs.
Pediatric trauma care is a critical health care service where we address injuries to children that range from bumps and bruises to serious life-threatening physical injuries like bleeding in the head and lacerations to organs. St. Luke's has brought this service to our community with the support of generous donors, and is honored to serve children and families throughout the region.
The pediatric team at Idaho’s only children’s hospital is dedicated to providing specialized care in a safe, comforting and family-friendly setting.
