When an accident or illness happens unexpectedly and you need care immediately, it can be stressful to figure out where to go, especially if you’re in pain. If the illness or injury is not life-threatening, calling your clinic for guidance or visiting an urgent care location can save you a trip to the Emergency Department and allow you to get the care you need, right when you need it.

If you need to see a doctor today for an unexpected injury or illness that isn’t an emergency, St. Luke’s offers a variety of extended-hours services for same-day, convenient care. Our goal is to help you get the right care, right when you need it.
Call Us First
If you’re an existing St. Luke’s patient, the first step is calling your primary care clinic, even after hours. Some St. Luke’s clinics offer same-day appointments, and all clinics offer around-the-clock information about other options for medical care. This service can help you determine if you should go to a nearby urgent care location or if virtual care is a good choice for your needs.
Get Virtual Care Without Leaving Home
With St. Luke’s On-Demand Virtual Care, you have access to Idaho-based doctors and advanced practice providers from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. From your computer or phone using MyChart, patients in our region can be seen within minutes. You can use your MyChart account or access the service as a guest.
If needed, doctors can order labs, send prescriptions to your local pharmacy and/or refer you to specialists for additional care. For some areas of the Treasure Valley, prescriptions can be delivered via St. Luke’s Home Delivery Pharmacy.

Chat With a Doctor
E-Visits are another virtual care option, available through your MyChart account. You can submit a questionnaire about a health concern and receive a response from one of our doctors or advanced practice providers within one business day. Much like messaging with a doctor, this service helps you get quick answers for basic medical questions.

With urgent care locations in more of our communities and orthopedic walk-in care in Boise, St. Luke’s continues to expand same-day medical access around Idaho. When a minor-to-moderate, unexpected illness or injury happens that isn’t a medical emergency, the nearest urgent care location might be the best option for your needs.
