About St. Luke's Children's Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine: Boise

St. Luke’s Children’s Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine promotes wellness and healthy lifestyles for children and teens living with a wide range of health conditions and their families by addressing the full range of physical, emotional, behavioral, and environmental influences that affect a child’s health. We aim to find out what really matters to patients and their families, discover their values and goals, and empower them with tools to help them get there. Regardless of the situation or diagnosis, we create healing partnerships with youth and their families to optimize their health and quality of life. We have two primary areas of focus:

  • Weight management and healthy lifestyles - Our multidisciplinary team is led by a physician and includes experts in nutrition and behavior modification. We will work with your child and the whole family to support long-term success. Additionally, we offer the opportunity for kids and families to participate in a variety of community-based Healthy4Life classes addressing nutrition, activity, sleep, hygiene and stress resiliency.
  • Managing chronic illness - Our integrative pediatrics experts combine the best of both conventional and holistic/complementary medicine, using what is most effective for an individual child and situation, based on the best available evidence. While the holistic view of integrative pediatrics includes the wellness of mind, body, and spirit, our services are not meant to replace conventional primary or specialty care. Consultation is available for ADHD and autism, chronic illness (such as cancer, autoimmune conditions, asthma/atopy), chronic pain (such as headache, abdominal pain, joint pain), and some emotional (stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression) or behavioral (habit disorders) concerns.
