About Phillip L. Chaffin Jr., MD

Phillip Chaffin Jr., MD serves as the medical director of the Hearing Loss and Cochlear Implant Program at St. Luke's. He has clinical interests in the management of hearing loss and the surgical treatment of cleft lip and palate.

Dr. Chaffin is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Cochlear Implant Alliance and American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He frequently travels overseas on medical missions to treat children with cleft lip and palate.

  • Very grateful for doctors expertise and knowledge of my son's condition. Sincerely appreciate that he was honest about the condition and not offering fluffy ideas for ways to improve his breathing quality. Feel that he listened well and answered all of our questions.

  • According to me,it's very difficult to differencet the nurse and the doctor. Maybe to be shown either by introducing themselves.

  • I cannot express my gratitude for the provider. He was so through and going through the history of what was going on with my son and explained so misconceptions of tonsil size and variables in making decisions to remove tonsils.
