Why Transport Matters

Air St. Luke’s provides fast and safe medical transport for people who need critical care. When every minute counts, we respond to emergencies and move patients between hospitals in southern Idaho, eastern Oregon and northern Nevada.

Each transport includes advanced equipment and a skilled team trained to care for newborns, children and adults with serious medical needs.

Air St. Luke's Membership

Coverage When Every Second Counts

Emergency medical transport can be expensive. Air St. Luke’s membership helps cover the portion of the bill that insurance doesn’t.

Membership starts at $65 per year and is available to anyone in our service area. It applies to medically necessary air transport by Air St. Luke’s.

Coverage for Air St. Luke’s members goes beyond our local region through our partners in the Association of Air Medical Membership Programs (AAMMP).

Our Critical Care Transport (CCT) Certified Fleet

  • Helicopter flies with spotlight on at night.

    Rotor Wing - Helicoper

    • Primary - Bell 429 helicopters based in Twin Falls and Boise, which meet and exceed all NTSB safety recommendations
    • Backup - Bell 429 helicopter based in Boise, with the same capabilities as the primary aircraft fleet
    • Rotor wing services provided by the FAR Part 135 Certificate Holder, Idaho Helicopters, Inc.
  • Air St. Luke's airplane

    Fixed Wing - Airplane

    • Primary - King Air 200 based in Boise, with two-patient transport and extended-distance travel capability
    • Backup - King Air 200 based in Boise, with the same capability as the primary aircraft
    • Fixed wing services provided by the FAR Part 135 Certificate Holder, Turbo Air, Inc.
  • Air St. Luke's ambulance.

    Ground Ambulances

    • Seven ambulances owned and operated by Air St. Luke's
    • Two ambulances able to accommodate a NICU isolette
    • Primarily used for inter-facility transport

Our Experienced Team

Two paramedics work on patient in Air St. Luke's vehicle.

Inter-facility transport teams consisting of EMT and paramedic, trained in broad range of ALS support for all age groups. Primary focus is moving patients within the St. Luke’s Health System Treasure Valley region.

Ground ALS EMT

  • Current Idaho Advanced EMT license (EMTA) BLS for healthcare provider
  • Current and continuous valid driver’s license and minimum of 21 years of age
  • Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) at time of hire or within 1 year

Ground ALS Paramedic

  • Idaho license EMT-Paramedic (EMTP)
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Completion of NRP within 6 months of hire, PHTLS within one year of hire
  • Current and continuous valid driver’s license
