Physical Therapy Sports Medicine Residency Program

At St. Luke’s Sports Medicine, our Physical Therapy Sports Medicine Residency Program offers residents an exceptional depth of experience both on the field and in the training room. You'll work alongside professional, collegiate, and club-level athletes, collaborate with nationally and internationally respected sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers, and engage in meaningful research, both new and ongoing.
St. Luke's Sports Medicine partners with local and national sports organizations, including:

- Boise Hawks Baseball
- Snake River Stampede Rodeo
- Boise Twilight Criterium
- Idaho Cycling League (Youth Mountain Bike Races)

Program Details
The residency period is a minimum of one calendar year. You'll be considered a full-time, salaried employee, eligible to receive all benefits described within the St. Luke's employee handbook. Your salary will be 70% of the minimum therapist range and you'll be responsible for your own travel and living expenses. If accepted, you may make a written request for a short sabbatical extending the residency program to a maximum of 15 months.
Although you'll be scheduled for 40 hours per week, there will be events on both weeknights and weekends that require additional hours without additional compensation. You may be allowed to work for other organizations, if your resident obligations are met first.
St. Luke's Sports Residency collaborates with other high profile residencies and fellowships in the Sports Inter-Residency Case Conference Series, which allows our current resident an opportunity to present nationally to an audience, including Duke, Ohio State, West Point, Cleveland Clinic, the Hospital for Special Surgery, and more.
