Pediatric Music Therapy
Supporting Mind, Body and Spirit
Music has power, often bringing comfort and strength. In the hospital, music therapy offers a safe space for young patients to cope with stress, manage emotions, find joy and express themselves.
At St. Luke’s Children’s, music therapy is available by referral for patients ages 1 to 17. This evidence-based approach uses music to support physical, emotional, and social well-being, helping children feel more at ease and improving their quality of life. Every session is tailored to each individual. Our music therapists are board-certified professionals with specialized training and over 1,200 hours of clinical experience. They’re passionate about creating positive experiences for children and families during care.

Finding Joy in Music
Sense of NormalcyThrough different forms of therapy, patients are encouraged to take an active role in their care, creating a sense of control, comfort and normalcy. When combined with a positive healing environment, these efforts nurture trust, ease anxiety and support the journey toward recovery.
Self-ExpressionMusic therapy encourages self-expression and emotional processing in a way that feels natural and comforting. Through rhythm, melody, and movement, individuals can explore their feelings while also building motor skills and supporting physical rehabilitation.
Family ConnectionStrengthening family connections creates space for love and togetherness. By building meaningful memories through milestone celebrations and legacy projects, families can honor their child's story, cherish shared experiences, and create bonds that last for lifetimes.
