Michael F. Gilchrist, MD maintains a strong interest in musculoskeletal care, including a desire to provide a wide breadth of procedures, as well as in the utilization of point-of-care ultrasound for diagnostic purposes. His primary focus, however, is to determine the best care for his patients through building trusting relationships on a daily basis.
Dr. Gilchrist is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society and is a prior recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. While finishing his physician training, he received the Mayo Clinic’s Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Resident Teacher Award as a senior, chief resident, while being recognized for distinguished services to his institution and program during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also received a volunteer medical provider service award on the merit of outstanding effort dedicated to a volunteer-run, federally funded free clinic in rural Minnesota external to his resident duties.
Dr. Gilchrist and his wife take every opportunity to be outdoors and have been grateful for the endless options the Treasure Valley and state of Idaho offer. He is a Minnesota sports fan and follows University of North Dakota hockey, and keeps up with new books and video games. Dr. Gilchrist also enjoys playing piano as well.
