Labor and Delivery
You’re almost ready to meet your baby, and St. Luke’s Labor and Delivery team is here to support you every step of the way. With generations of experience in advanced maternity and neonatal care, we’re dedicated to making your birth experience as smooth and safe as possible.

This class will help you and your support companion prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for your labor, birth, and postpartum experience. We’ll demonstrate and practice a variety of coaching, breathing, and relaxation techniques. We’ll also cover the birth process, pain management during labor, decision making, and the transition to parenthood.

This class is designed to prepare you and your support person for labor, childbirth, and the early postpartum time period.
We will cover: • Your wellness • The labor experience including the phases and stages of labor • Relaxation techniques, including massage, music therapy, and visualization exercises • Breathing techniques • Videos of both vaginal and cesarean deliveries • Positions for labor • Pain medication/anesthesia options • Preparation for cesarean birth • Your care postpartum
